Last weekend was so much fun and just what the doctor ordered.

We kicked things off on Thursday (it was a long weekend here) with an oxtail lunch with our friends. It’s always so much fun when we get together. Our kids played themselves out, we got to chat and laugh a lot, the food was delicious. It was so good for the soul.

The rest of the weekend was spent at home just relaxing and reenergizing. Willow is cutting teeth again and was a little grumpier than normal. So I think it was good to just stay home and take it easy.

I had bought her a few new play things for outside and the weather was so good that we just had to take advantage of it and spend as much time as we could in the garden.

Then Sunday was Father’s Day. I put together a picnic breakfast for the family and we ate far too much food. It was a lovely day.

Purchase of the week: This electric pink slide that I found for R300 at Westpack Express in Lonehill. It’s the perfect size both for Willow and our little balcony garden. It has been a huge success and Willow is besotted with being able to play outside.

Project of the week: Willow’s little play area become an impromptu project that I found myself obsessed with this weekend. It started with the purchase of the slide and then grew to include the rocker and sand – all of which I wrote about here.

TV show of the week: Masterchef Australia! I’m currently watching season 8 and it’s amazing.

Best moment: This week, and weekend, was full of great moments. Our lunch on Thursday was definitely a highlight, but so was sitting outside playing in the sand with Willow.

Looking forward to: Sleeping in on Saturday! Willow will be playing with her granny while I enjoy some extra time in bed. I can’t wait!
